Max Rendina and Motorsport Italia confirm a significantly revised edition of the rally, once again focused on best environmental practices to retain the prestigious three-star rating in the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme — a standard the event has upheld for the past three years.
Rome, 10 April 2025 – Just 87 days remain until the 2025 edition of Rally di Roma Capitale, the event organised by Motorsport Italia and Max Rendina, scheduled earlier this year for 4–6 July. The rally will bring the FIA European Rally Championship back to Italy as Round 5 of the continental series.
While major sporting updates — particularly to the route — have already been announced, the event also reaffirms its commitment to environmental best practices. This will mark the third consecutive year that Rally di Roma Capitale, one of the standout events on the ERC calendar and among Rome’s top five sporting fixtures, holds the three-star FIA Environmental Accreditation, the FIA’s top recognition for sustainable event planning.
Environmental responsibility is a key pillar in the event’s organisation and a defining feature of its high standards — Rally di Roma Capitale was the first FIA ERC event to receive this accolade in 2023.
For the July edition, fans will again be encouraged to adopt responsible behaviour, thanks to a comprehensive awareness campaign across all strategic areas: from the Fiuggi Paddock to spectator zones and central event hubs. Recycling points will be expanded, and targeted messaging will highlight proper waste disposal and the importance of sorting materials correctly.
Low-emission vehicles will once more be used for logistics and staff operations, alongside energy-efficient generators across service areas. The Fiuggi Paddock catering service will continue its plastic-free policy, fully eliminating single-use plastics. Environmental communication will be strengthened via digital content and on-site information materials, in cooperation with local authorities.
This is further reinforced by the collaboration with ATAC, Official Mobility Partner of Rally di Roma Capitale, marking another concrete step towards more sustainable mobility. During the opening evening in the Capital, the organisers will once again promote the use of ATAC public transport lines to reach the city centre, encouraging both spectators and team members to choose public transport over private cars.
To ensure technical sustainability, waste oil disposal will be handled exclusively by certified providers, in full compliance with environmental regulations. Additionally, rally car washing will not be permitted, as part of a broader effort to reduce water consumption and protect natural resources.
Rally di Roma Capitale also stands out as a model of sustainable engagement with the territory. The route and stage layout are designed to highlight the cultural and natural beauty of the Lazio region while respecting the environment and local communities. This commitment is now deeply embedded in the rally’s DNA, reflecting the organisers’ desire to deliver a top-level sporting event with a constant focus on sustainability, ethics, and responsibility towards future generations.
