14.01.2021 – The new year is full of expectations for a restart and hope for new moments of freedom and Motorsport Italia is working hard to prepare the next Rally di Roma Capitale, that is the only Italian event valid for the FIA ERC European Rally Championship and Italian Rally Championship that will get underway next July 23-25.
The staff led by Max Rendina kicked-off the season with the congratulations from the FIA regarding how Rally di Roma Capitale managed to organize such a big event in 2020 despite all the limitations connected to the sanitary emergency. Remarkably, this work was done completely from scratch as the 2020 event of the Rally di Roma Capitale was the first FIA rally event after the lockdown, and therefore it was named #startoftherestart.
The protocol devised and implemented in the past edition, the dedicated staff to check access points and triage points have set the benchmark for all the competitions around the world.
Despite the limitations, the media attention and the passion around the Rally di Roma Capitale has been very important. The event featured 150 accredited media staff, more than 8 million spectators on Eurosport TV channels, hours of live covered racing action, thousands of published articles and outreach of more than 7 million people, for a seven figures image return.
“By the look of the development of the international situation – Max Rendina commented, – edition 2021 will also undergo some restrictions, but we are working to be ready for all the conditions and the experience we built last year makes us stronger. We have the usual approach: to make a great Rally di Roma Capitale we need to involve fans and we sincerely hope that this is going to be the case. The attractiveness of motorsport events is still very high, they can embrace a lot of themes and involve the stakeholders that see an important business opportunity in this world”.
Promotional and sporting aspects will combine again in edition 2012 that will take place from July 23rd to 25th but the logistics will be partially modified with novel stages, an improved itinerary, new supporting initiatives and content that, on paper, already identify this edition as the Rally di Roma Capitale of the restart.
