26.11.2022 – The officialization of the FIA European Rally Championship 2023 Calendar by WRC Promoter confirmed that Max Rendina and Motorsport Italia’s organized Rally di Roma Capitale will be the only European round and will take place as usual on July 29-30.
“This is a huge satisfaction shared with Automobile Club d’italia, ACI Sport’ Rally Commission, Regione Lazio, Rome’s Municipality, all the institutions on the territory, our partners and our hard-working staff – Max Rendina commented. Since our arrival at the European Rally Championship in 2017, we have represented Italy with pride and worked hard to make this event grow and provide good media coverage. The confirmation of this round as part of the FIA ERC 2023 in a historic moment full of changes for the European Series, required a huge effort from all of us and therefore we proudly give our best again for next year’s edition”.
The event last year brought the rally cars close to the Colosseum and will be back to stage the challenge among the best drivers of the European Rally in a joint event with the Sparco Italian Rally Championship that has been confirmed.
The logistics, program and itinerary are still being studied and will certainly include some novelties and important confirmations keeping the tradition that over the years has always put in amazing events. From the Lido di Ostia to the Terme di Caracalla, the start from Castel Sant’Angelo and the parade through Rome’s city centre have been unique moments that produced stunning images of Italy worldwide. The collaboration with the Great Events Office and the Great Events, Sport and Tourism Councilor of Roma Capitale Mr. Alessandro Onorato was crucial to obtain this value.
“It is not easy to build something new and special every single year – Rendina concluded – but we have a lot of ideas and we want to have the wow factor also in 2023. I can guarantee that the Rally di Roma Capitale will keep its promises and deliver a great spectacle in 2023 too”.
