Rally di Roma Capitale 2025 evolves with a renewed route, sustainability, and social impact.

Three brand-new special stages, a refined itinerary, and the new Lancia Trophy are the key innovations. The event, organized by Motorsport Italia and Max Rendina, is set for a significant evolution while keeping Rome at the center of the action. Sustainability and social initiatives remain at the forefront.

Roma, February 28th 2025 – Rally di Roma Capitale gears up for its 13th edition with a reworked format and a refreshed route. As round of the FIA European Rally Championship (FIA ERC), Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco (CIAR Sparco), and Coppa Rally di 8^ Zona, the rally cements its place as a top-tier event in international motorsport, featuring key sporting and structural updates.

The 2025 edition moves forward to July 4-6th to avoid overlap with Jubilee celebrations. A major change comes with three all-new special stages, alongside a complete route revision. Fiuggi remains the operational base with paddock and headquarters, while legendary stages from past editions return. The revamped layout raises the bar for competition and spectacle alike.

Rome remains the rally’s beating heart. The Capitale provides a unique backdrop, with the high-profile opening ceremony reaffirming its status as a must-watch event. Rally di Roma Capitale stands among the five biggest sporting events in Rome for 2025, bridging motorsport with mainstream audiences.

Sustainability stays at the forefront. The rally is the only event in the series to hold FIA Environmental Accreditation Program’s three-star rating, confirming a firm commitment to sustainability. Recognized internationally, Rally di Roma Capitale sets the benchmark within the FIA ERC. Two weeks ago in Madrid, during the FIA Officials Summits, Team Manager Bruno de Pianto presented the rally’s environmental advancements and best practices.

Also social inclusion remains a priority, with initiatives such as wheelchair basketball continuing to drive engagement. Making the rally accessible and inclusive is a core value of the event.

A major 2025 highlight is the launch of the Lancia Trophy, marking the return of the iconic HF brand to the stages. Rally di Roma Capitale will host the trophy’s only international round of the season. Closely linked to the FIA ERC, the one-make series offers a gateway to the 2026 European Championship for top-performing drivers. The competition will feature two separate classifications for the first and second leg.

Max Rendina:
“Rally di Roma Capitale has always looked to innovate and grow while staying true to its identity and strong connection with the city. For 2025, we have worked on a significantly revised route, bringing in new special stages and reviving great sections to balance tradition and innovation. We are proud of our sustainability efforts, with the rally standing as the only event in the series to hold FIA’s three-star environmental accreditation—an achievement that rewards years of commitment. Rome is now a model for the FIA ERC, as highlighted in Madrid two weeks ago. Our mission is to keep moving forward, making the rally more sustainable and responsible. Beyond the sport itself, initiatives like these allow us to reach a wider audience and take rallying beyond its traditional niche.”
