From July 25th to 28th, the rally will run through more than 40 municipalities in Lazio, with the support of the Regione Lazio’s Councillor for Tourism, Environment, Sport, Climate Change, Energy Transition, and Sustainability, Elena Palazzo. Fiuggi is confirmed as the HQ of the event, with new activities and initiatives.
Rome, July 1st 2024 – The Rally di Roma Capitale, now in its twelfth edition, is preparing to offer an unique experience from July 26th to 28th 2024. This edition, fifth round of the FIA European Rally Championship and the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco, puts a special focus on the whole territory of the Regione Lazio.
Organised by Motorsport Italia and former world rally champion Max Rendina, the event stands out for its involvement of the territory, crossing more than 40 municipalities in Lazio. This characteristic makes the Rally di Roma Capitale an unrivalled event, with a considerable logistical commitment and crucial collaboration with all the local administrations involved.
The cooperation with the Regione Lazio, represented by the Councillor for Tourism, Environment, Sport, Climate Change, Energy Transition, and Sustainability Elena Palazzo, was crucial for the organisation of the event. Already demonstrated in the Rally del Lazio Cassino 2023, this partnership is crucial for the promotion of the Region and its excellences. The Rally di Roma Capitale acts as a powerful tourist attractor and the number of visitors travelling for this event is estimated to be higher than for all the other editions.
Elena Palazzo: ‘It is a pleasure for us to collaborate with the Rally di Roma Capitale. This event is an exceptional showcase for Lazio and helps us to highlight our landscape and cultural excellences. As already happened with the Cassino Rally, Fiuggi, with all its new initiatives, will be at the centre of an extraordinary experience for all participants. Through the rally we offer a great opportunity to show the whole territory of Lazio to the world, a spectacular competition that enhances the beauty of the natural elements of the area chosen for the rally”.
Fiuggi will be the operational hub of the event, confirmed as the HQ and Paddock. After the exciting prologue at the Colosseum, the action will move to this picturesque town, which will see an expansion of the Village activities, taking full advantage of the spaces of the new Palacongressi. The aim is to create an event that is not only for rally fans, but also for families and all those who wish to spend an unforgettable weekend.
Max Rendina, also President of the ACI Sport Lazio Regional Delegation, underlines the importance of this edition: “The Rally of Roma Capitale is unique in its kind because of its capillary spread over the territory. This entails a great logistical commitment and requires close cooperation with the local administrations. The support of Councillor Elena Palazzo has been fundamental in making this possible’.
